Pediatric Patient Information
The nursing staff and anesthesia team at Ireland Grove Center for Surgery have extensive training and experience in caring for pediatric patients.
Upon arrival at the surgery center the consent for surgery must be signed by a parent or legal guardian for all patients under the age of 18. Legal guardian must present appropriate proof of guardianship. A parent or guardian is required to stay with the child during the pre- and post-op periods and must remain in the building during the surgical procedure.
Infants may take a pacifier with them to surgery. Children may take a favorite stuffed animal or blanket to surgery. Please bring a bottle to give to your child after surgery if they require one.
Due to the effects of anesthesia, pediatric patients sometimes urinate during surgery so please bring extra diapers/underwear. We want you and your child to have the best possible experience at the surgery center.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact the staff at Ireland Grove Center for Surgery.
