Pre-Surgery Procedure

Your surgeon will discuss your procedure with you during your office visit and your procedure will be scheduled by the surgeon’s office staff at that time. The surgeon’s office will provide you a pre-anesthesia questionnaire and medication list to complete. Please return the forms (via mail, fax, email) to the surgery center prior to your surgery date for the anesthesiologist to review.  The surgeon’s office may provide you an estimated time of your surgery but final times are confirmed on the day prior to your surgery.

On the day prior to your surgery, the surgery center will confirm the schedule for the following day by 4:00 p.m. The surgery center will call you to inform you of your arrival time and provide you with further instructions. Do not call the surgery center unless you have not received your pre-operative phone call by 4:00 p.m. on the day prior. The surgery center will also call you on the next business day after your procedure to answer any questions that you may have and to see how you are doing.

Please follow these important instructions before surgery:

  • A responsible adult (18 years of age or older) must accompany all patients to the surgery center. The responsible adult will need to sign the patient out after the procedure and remain with the patient for at least 24 hours. The only exception to this policy is if the patient is receiving local anesthesia.

  • Patients will not be allowed to take a taxi or bus service home from the surgery center unless a responsible adult accompanies them.

  • Do not eat or drink after midnight the night before your procedure.

  • Do not drink alcohol 24 hours prior to surgery.

  • Please limit the number of guests with the patient to one (1); there should be no children.

Failure to follow these instructions may cause complications and/or cancellation of you procedure.

If you need to cancel

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call your physicians office. They will re-schedule your procedure with the surgery center.

If you are delayed

If you are delayed and will be arriving at the surgery center later than your scheduled time, please contact the surgery center.
